| Misc. Notes |
Jordan has his name as George A. Eisaman.16 Tombstone says he died "Feb. 3, 1879, aged 90 yrs 8 mos 6 dys."13
George A. Eisaman, great-grandfather of A.M. Zunde1, resided for many years on the Church Farm, before mentioned. He was also a carpet weaver. He conducted the choir from early manhood, and only relinquished the work at the approach of extreme old age. To lead a choir in a church whose membership comprised the community, to till its farm, bury its dead and weave its carpet, was to forever keep him in the pub1ic eye. His wonderfully retentive memory, and genial disposition made him a general favorite. He lived over ninety years. He sleeps under the shadow of the oaks that he nurtured, but is not forgotten. He was the father of Benjamin Eisaman, farmer and contractor, who lives one mile west of Greensburg, and the grandfather of Albert G., Uriah G. (deceased), Mrs. Peter Smeltzer, and Mrs. William A. Keener, late of Greensburg, deceased.16 |
