Came to America in 1875, settling in Chicago (according to 1900 census, she came in 1883). From there they moved to Deerfield, then after living there a number of years, they returned to Chicago. After being in Chicago two years, Mr. Gust's health began to fail, so they moved to their farm in Riga in 1900, at the place where she died.23
1900 census says she had 2 ch., 1 alive.30 But 1910 census says she had only one and none were alive--and that Frank was adopted.48
