| Graduated from Adrian High School in 1894, ranked third behind her sister and cousin. Was a school teacher for 3 years in Wauseon, Ohio and 6 years in Chicago. Taught school for 3 years (c. 1903-1906) in Rome Twp district 6, the Walworth School. Had 28 pupils. Twelve of these pupils helped her celebrate her 81st birthday in 1958. | ||||||||||||||

Attended the Michigan State Normal School in Ypsilanti. Taught for 2 years at the Grubb School west of Tipton. From the Adrian College Book of Golden Memories: [William H. Ruesink] was born February 14, 1875, in Franklin Township, Lenawee County, the son of D. J. and Minnie Ruesink, who were among the pioneer settlers in this area. Mr. Ruesink attended the public schools, later entering Michigan State Normal, Ypsilanti, wher he graduated in 1904. He taught school for two years in Grub District, Franklin Township, and one year in the Richmond High School. "Preferring the farm to teaching, he settled in Adrian Township. On February 14, 1906, he married Miss Grace Knight, to which union were born five children. "From 1917 to 1924 Mr. Ruesink served as Supervisor. He was also a member o of the Tipton Grange for two years, and a member of the Tipton Knights of Pythias lodge. "In 1931 he was appointed County Poor Commissioner, and from 1939 to 1951, when he retired, he served on the County Welfare Board. "Mr. and Mrs. Ruesink united with the West Adrian Congregational Christian Church in 1906. He served as superintendent of the Sunday School for six years, was a member of the Board of Trustees, a teacher in the Sunday School, and served his church in other capacities, and always with diligence, devotion, and distinction.
