| Of Dorchester, Mass., in 1658-59. Settled in Northampton in 1659, being granted a home lot of 12 acres adjacent to William Clarke. The lots joined each other at or near the later location of the main building of Smith College. From 1665 to 1681 he ran a tavern. He was accidentally killed at the upper Northampton corn mill.21 |
