| Embarked at Bristol.99 Came from a border town in Wales in 1640 and settled in Springfield.90 Removed to Northampton in 1655, his original home lot being on the southeast corner of Pleasant St. and Main. His lot together with the adjacent one owned by John Webb later became the homestead of Gov. Caleb Strong. In 1660 he moved to another lot at the corner of West & Green Streets. The first grist mill in Northampton was originally co-owned by William Clarke, Alexander Edwards, Samuel Wright, Sr., and Joseph Parsons.21 |
