Farmer on the farm Liezen in Dalen (Aalten) until 1847, then on the farm Essink in IJzerlo (Aalten). Emigrated to America 15 Dec 1856 with his second wife and 3 youngest children. His daughter Everdina had emigrated 4 months earlier with her husband (Arent Jan Prinsen).10 However, Swierenga has this family departing from Rotterdam on the ship "George F Patton" and arriving at New York 29 Sep 1856 (i.e., the same ship as Everdina Ruesink, her husband Arent J. Prinsen, and three of his sibs).40
In 1860 U.S. census of Holland Twp., Sheboygan Co., Wisconsin, Gerrit Hendrik Ruesink (b. 1979) was in dwelling #1088, Arend J. Ruesink was in #1089, and Gerrit J. Ruesink was in # 1085. |
