Notes for Alida Engelina Klompenhauer [immigrant]
Date of birth computed from age at death from cemetery records.83 Surname is probably Klompenhouwer in Dutch records.
Notes for Arend Jan (Spouse 1)
Emigrated to America from house number 235 in De Heurne 16 July 1856; occupation listed as "servant.". His father and youngest sister followed 14 years later.10

In 1978 I wrote: The American connection for Arend Jan is not yet certain, but I believe the information presented for his wife and children belong here. The 1880 U.S. Census of Dodge Co., Chester Town, Wisconsin, included:

A. John Ruesink a. 51 b. Holland
Allice Ruesink a. 46 b. Holland
John Ruesink a. 21 b. Wisc.
Minnie Ruesink a. 14 b. Wisc.
Henry Ruesink a. 10 b. Wisc.

The parents and sons are also found in the 1900 census for the same town.

In 1995 I received confirming report from Virgil Hoftiezer, but his evidence is not totally convincing.82
