Message: Roelof was the son of Garrit Jan Hoopman and Hendrika Oberink. Hendrika was Garrit's third wife. I believe the other two were Gesina te Veene and Willemina Eppink. Between all three wives there were 13 children. It is believed they immigrated in 1857 to America, but it would have to have been only their children as Garrit and all three of his wives were deceased at the time. I do not know where they entered the country, but the eventually ended up in the Fillmore County, Minnesota area. Thanks, Bruce Rohl24 |
