Steven Ruesink
1958-2003
Steven Ruesink, 45, of Minneapolis, formerly of Rochester, passed away on December 6 of cardiac arrest. For more than 10 years, Ruesink worked in various capacities at the Saloon bar in Minneapolis, including barback, bartender, and security. He was employed as an insulator for Budget Insulation for more than 20 years. Ruesink is survived by his life partner, Steve Smilanich; parents, Harley A Ruesink and Joan Ruesink Alexander; brother, Terry Ruesink; and stepbrothers, Jess, Matt, and Jim Benson. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Marilyn (Kola) Ruesink. A memorial service was held at Bethel Lutheran Church, Rochester, with internment at Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, Minnesota. A memorial celebration will be held at the Saloon, 830 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis, on February 1, Noon-2 PM. |
