Emigrated to America from house number 280 in De Heurne. [He is also listed as emigrating from Dinxperlo (not De Heurne) 17 July 1856; occupation is given as "son of a farmer, servant of the clergyman."] He came back 1 Nov 1861 following the death of his brother Berend. His brother Derk Jan emigrated in May 1854.10 From 19 May 1852 to 1 May 1854 he worked as a servant for Arend Duitshof at "Oberrink" in Varsseveld. Then he went back to Dinxperlo until emigrating to America.58
