Wilma Stoddart, 85, of Cheyenne died May 23 at Life Care Center [Cheyenne, Wyoming]. She was born Sept. 1, 1917, in Baldwin, Wis., and had lived in Cheyenne since 1982 with prior residence in Littleton, Colo. Wilma Stoddart was the daughter of William and Mary Ruesink, and raised in Hudson, Wis. She graduated from La Crosse College in 1939. She first taught in Beaver Dam, Wis. She met her husband, John, there. They were married on April 24, 1943. When they moved to Colorado in 1954, she taught in Milliken and Sheridan, retiring in 1979. She was a lifelong member of the National Education Association. Mrs. Stoddart is survived by her son, Jack Stoddart and his wife Vicky of Greeley; and her daughter, Jean Miller and her husband Frank of Cheyenne. She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Kristin Campbell and David, Mike and Steve Miller; and her two great-grandchildren, Karen and Jackson Campbell. Mrs. Stoddart also is survived by a sister, Marjory Jewett of Hopkins, Minn.; and a brother, George Ruesink of Hudson. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Florence Sheftner. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Schrader Funeral Home. Friends may contribute to Meals on Wheels.165 |
