| An inhabitant of Newport, R.I., as early as 1638. He held the position of "general sergeant" for 19 years and was several times general solicitor.22 On 16 Jan 1648[/9] James Rogers sold land in Newport to Richard Knight.23 Another source has him "of Rhode Island" in 1680. Perhaps that refers to a son? | ||||||
