| Surname may be Severns or Severans in England. After marriage in 1635 he came to New England and lived in Boston, where he was made a freeman 17 May 1637. Was in Salisbury, Mass., in 1639, and later was surveyor and town moderator there.61 Sheldon says he came over in the Elizabeth in 1634.9 On 7 Nov 1644 John Severans [sic] sold 20 acres "of upland in Salisbury on the west side of Powwos River" to a William Sargent.23 |
