| In October 1703 he and Zebadiah Williams were captured by Indians while in the meadow at Deerfield tending cattle. There were taken to Canada and held prisoner for some time, after which he escaped and made his way back to Deerfield.21 He later lived on the old homestead in Deerfield.9 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
