| Was captured by the indians, and while in Canada "efforts were made to force her to marry a Frenchman. She objected strongly, but offered to marry any one of the captives. Ebenezer Nims joyfully responded, and they were married." They returned to Mass. in 1713 following much negotiation by a group lead by Col. John Stoddard of Northampton and Rev. John Williams of Deerfield.21 |
