One source gives birth date as 14 Mar 1686/87110 while Sheldon has 11 Mar 1687.9 At the age of 17 yrs., he was captured by the indians. Sarah Hoyt was made prisoner at the same time.21

Was captured by the indians, and while in Canada "efforts were made to force her to marry a Frenchman. She objected strongly, but offered to marry any one of the captives. Ebenezer Nims joyfully responded, and they were married." They returned to Mass. in 1713 following much negotiation by a group lead by Col. John Stoddard of Northampton and Rev. John Williams of Deerfield.21
