| Emigrated from house number 461 in De Heurne to America with wife (Hermina Berendina Harbers), 2 daughters & son about 1882.10 One source says they arrived in New York 25 May 1883.4 According to his grandson Erwin, Gerrit Willem is buried in an unmarked grave in the small Presbyterian cemetery south ca. 0.5 mile S. of Greenleafton. His family was very poor and could not afford a stone, and now the exact location is forgotten. |
