| Emigrated from Aalten, neighborhood Lintelo, to America 27 Dec 1855 with parents and 4 sibs.10 At age 14 he began work as a farm hand for H.J. TeSelle in Holland Twp. After two years he went to Fond du Lac Co. and worked there for six years. In ca. 1874 he returned to Sheboygan Co. and engaged in merchandising in Gibbsville. After about eight years he disposed of the store and turned to market gardening for some five years. In the fall of 1887 he bought another merchandising business (from Henry Merion), this time in Oostburg.44 "Henry Marion was the first station agent after the rail service was started at Oostburg. Marion also started what was probably the second general store in the village. He conducted this store for only a brief time when he sold it to E. Ruesink. At the present time [1927] the building is occupied as a garage."49 1880 census: Census Place: Lima, Sheboygan, Wisconsin Source: FHL Film 1255447 National Archives Film T9-1447 Page 81C Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace Evert RUSINK Self M M W 27 NETHERLANDS Occ: Merchant Fa: NETH Mo: NETH Jane RUSINK Wife F M W 22 WI Occ: Keeping House Fa: NETH Mo: NETH John RUSINK Son M S W 9M WI Fa: NETH Mo: NETH Garret LENSINK Other M S W 23 WI Occ: Clerk In Store Fa: HOLL Mo: HOLL47 | ||||||||||||||||
