| Emigrated from Dinxperlo (not De Heurne) house number 142 [also listed as emigrating from De Heurne house number 262, with all other details the same] to America 1 May 1856. He was listed as "without occupation."10,63 He arrived in New York 29 Sept 1856 on the ship George F Patton from Rotterdam, having traveled with the family of Gerrit Jan Ruesink (b. 1797)--his grandfather's cousin.40 Settled first in Wisconsin, then moved on to South Dakota. By 1900 he owned without mortgage his farm in Clear Lake Twp., Dueul Co., South Dakota. Ruth Bleeker says a photograph exists of him (but she refers to him as Gerrit William) with his wife Genzena that was taken in 1856. She says it was taken in Alto Wisconsin.112 In 1868 a G.J.
