Baptism records have him born 12 Sep 1832.87 Was for many years in the coal business on the Monongahela River; afterwards, largely engaged in the construction of the Western Penna. Railroad, and later again in the coal business.79

In 1882 he had a home on 13 acres near the east end of the Leechburg tunnel at the Kiskiminetas River (Allegheny Twp, Westmoreland Co).79 Living in Allegheny Twp, Westmoreland Co, in the 1870 & 1880 census.
